Time in Dumugete, Philippines!

Hi! These pics are from our time in Dumugete, Philippines which is on a different island. These students are students who have been sponsored by people through Compassion International, and have gone on to continue to be sponsored and are able to go to college here. These students are so incredible. They did not let poverty stop them from becoming leaders. The girl I pictured with is named Jonadith, she is so intelligent, and one day may be President in the Philippines. I can't wait to share more about this experience with you. It has been raining a lot here. It makes it hard for people live here in so many ways(no proper drainage even in the capital city....etc....etc) I still have a sore throat, hopefully it doesn't get any worse. I have to start getting ready for the day. I am getting homesick again. Just being able to brush my teeth with tap water again will feel so good! I hope as you read this you are having a great day and feeling blessed!
Love,
Jeannie

I totally want to get one of those bike...motorcycle...things. They're really cool-looking.

But yeah, it seems as if you guys are pretty busy out there ( yet still having fun, which is definitely a great thing. ) I'm sure you'll have trillions of stories to tell once all is said and done.

^_^ Keep up the good work!

WOW! That's a lot of motorcycles and scooters. Probably the cheapest form of transportation for such a poor country.

We miss you Jeannie!!! Pssst... Mike was late to work this week. Bad Mike, bad bad Mike. You make sure you straighten him out when you come back.

Jeannie, thank you for doing what you are doing -- and including us (the world). Please know we are praying for you and for a safe return. And we selfishly can't wait to have you back on the morning show.

Speaking of... As you've heard, Mike was a "bad boy" and got in trouble by oversleeping. We know he just can't function without you!

Many Blessings!

Hi Jeannie! i've been on vacation in california for the past 3 months (i live in the philippines), and i've been hooked on air1 ever since. i wake up listening to you and mike every weekday morning, and i must say that i'm a big fan. ;) i even saw you guys at SWC in del mar.

while you're there, be sure to try some filipino food while there, like sinigang (sour soup), lechon (roasted pig), laing (taro leaves cooked in coconut milk), and adobo. also look out for the desserts like halo-halo, leche flan or cheese ice cream. :)

and before heading back to the US, if you have time, stop by Mall of Asia, the third largest mall in the world. :)

God bless!

Jeannie~
I'm sure you'll be excited to come home, but a part of you will always remain there with those children. God will bless you for going around the world to show His love.
Remember Matt. 25:40!

God Bless!!!

Hi Jeannie! I love your show. I was born in the Philippines and grew up there. I now live in the U.S., and just love your morning show. Those motorcycle things are called 'tricycles'. I hope you had a great time in the Philippines and that even though it is a poverty-stricken country, you could see the great hope that the Filipinos have.

Hey Jeannie! I love listening to the morning show from Tulsa. I just got back from visiting the Philippines in July. I lived there for two years as a volunteer teacher and just had to go back to visit my old students and friends. Filipinos are definitely super friendly!
While visiting this last time, I found out a pastor friend of mine started a Compassion sponsorship program through his church. It was so cool to hear from people who are really involved in sponsorship and are the hands and feet behind the program and Bible study.
I am excited that you are getting to see "my" country. :) God bless you! I hope you love it as much as I do!

Jeannie, I pray that you're feeling better. I was looking at your blog on your missions trip to the Phillipines. Looks like the Missions trip was a huge success.
